Trauma can take many forms and affects individuals all around us. The positive benefits of a yoga practice for people affected by trauma have been proven to be highly effective in helping individuals heal from past trauma. This workshop offers an overview of trauma informed yoga from a clinical perspective. This training will teach individuals about the impact of trauma and how it affects individuals on and off the mat. The focus of this training is to provide teachers with practical applications of trauma informed yoga to use both professionally and personally to promote growth.
This workshop is guided by mental health professional, Jacquelyn Gregory who specializing in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Jacquelyn’s passion for yoga started during graduate school while studying to become a mental health therapist. She realized how therapeutic yoga was and has used yoga as a tool to connect deeper to her self emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Jacquelyn is known for her genuine and compassionate teaching style. She leads students through thought provoking, nurturing and informative yoga classes sharing knowledge and insight she has gained. Jacquelyn completed her 200-hour training through Kindness Yoga and successfully completed the Kindness Mentoring program under the guidance of Lindsay Gonzales. In addition to trainings at Kindness, Jacquelyn received her certification to teach Children’s Yoga through Radiant Beginnings.
